Shell has renewed its global agreement with drone technology company Cyberhawk, extending a multi-million dollar partnership that fuels digital transformation across its energy projects worldwide.
The deal centers around iHawk, Cyberhawk’s cloud-based visual data management platform, which has become a key piece of Shell’s digital infrastructure. Initially deployed back in 2016 to help oversee a $10 billion capital project, iHawk has since scaled across Shell’s portfolio, with over 6,000 users now relying on it across four continents.
The five-year renewal signals Shell’s confidence in Cyberhawk’s ability to deliver operational insights and project oversight through drone-captured data and digital visualization. From large-scale engineering developments to gas stations, iHawk brings project transparency, cost savings, and streamlined communication to teams spread around the globe.

“Shell recognized early on the agility and customization that Cyberhawk and iHawk bring to the table,” says Patrick Saracco, SVP of Sales for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Cyberhawk. “What began as a single capital project has expanded into a long-term global partnership.”
The iHawk platform allows Shell teams to visualize, navigate, and manage complex project data through a single, intuitive interface. It cuts down on costly site visits, speeds up decision-making by providing fast access to critical project documents, and reduces supply chain disputes with visual verification tools.
But iHawk’s impact goes beyond Shell’s internal use. The platform is gaining traction with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors and other energy players, proving its value across the energy supply chain.
Shell’s continued investment in iHawk aligns with its broader mission of digitally enabled and data-driven infrastructure. With major capital projects underway and ambitious decarbonization goals in sight, Shell sees Cyberhawk as a vital partner in pushing the boundaries of digital project delivery.
